2017 Land Management Plan Workshops


The Georgia-Alabama Land Trust & Chattahoochee Valley Land Trust invite you to join us for a Land Management Plan Workshop!

In response to numerous requests for assistance completing land management plans, we are excited to host a series of workshops. These are required in many conservation easements, including yours. You will leave the workshop with a completed plan, that complies with your conservation easement.

TIME:
9:30 AM until 5:00 PM, local time.


Preregistration is required and appointments are preferred so that we are able to make the process as quick and easy as possible for you. Please register one week prior to desired workshop.

If you are already working with a natural resource professional to complete your plan, you do not need to attend. If you are unable to attend, but would like to make other arrangements, please contact the Stewardship Staff.

April Walks in the Woods

The Kearns Property in Floyd County, GA is hosting two opportunities to visit their property for a Walk in the Woods:

April 15 at 10 am
 the Georgia Botanical Society a walk/hike to see “Discovered and Undiscovered Treasures”, Shooting Star and Jacobs Ladder, etc. Visit www.gabotsoc.org for more information.


April 27 at 10 am Dr. Joan Maloof, Executive Director of the Old Growth Forest Network, will lead a talk/walk through the forest, helping us identify old growth trees. Visit www.oldgrowthforest.net for more information.

Conservation Easement Course in ATL, GA (Roswell)


Please join us in Roswell, GA on June 13th for a one-day course on Conservation Easements. This course is geared towards landowners and their professional advisers who are interested in learning more about finding the Win-Win through Conservation Easements. Professional course credit will be offered for attendees.


Key topics:  the land trust, land use and associated easements, the process for developing and donating a conservation easement, conservation easement terms, ecological inventory of the property, 'stewardship' of a conservation easement, appraisals and potential financial benefits.
