Conservation Tools & Trends for Private Land & Working Forests: Updates on Conservation Easements, Timber, and Related Ecological Services
The Georgia-Alabama Land Trust and the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources are partnering to present a course that is designed to provide participants with a working knowledge of conservation easements and related ecological services and land protection tools. It offers a foundational understanding of how conservation easements can help landowners achieve their goals while preserving current land uses and conservation values. The course includes a comprehensive overview of relevant legislation, appraisal practices, tax incentives, and other key topics related to conservation easements and land protection in the Southeast. Additionally, participants will receive an update on timber markets, conservation initiatives, and emerging technology.
