Cave Tour

Join us for our annual Cave Tour through the Weaver Cave Complex! Tours will feature information on the history of the cave complex, ecology of the species that inhabit it, and basic caving good practices.

Recommended donation of $5 a person.

Please review the details of the Simple and Complex tour before registering! There is also an option to add a cave-mapping demonstration to your simple or complex tour.

Simple Tour

Duration: 45 min - 1 hour

Requires bending & high steps while walking through accessible passages of Weaver Cave.

Recommended for ages 8+

What to bring/wear:

  • Helmet (required to enter)

  • Headlamp

  • Closed-toe walking shoes/hiking boots

  • Gloves

  • Durable clothing you don’t mind getting dirty

  • Camera (optional)

Complex Tour

Duration: 3-4 hours

Requires descending using a rope, crawling, squeezing, bending, high steps, ducking, and other maneuvers through the narrow, dark passages of Weaver & Lady Cave.

Recommended for ages 12+

What to bring/wear:

  • Helmet (required to enter)

  • Headlamp

  • Closed-toe walking shoes/hiking boots

  • Durable clothing you don’t mind getting dirty

  • Gloves (optional)

  • Water and something to hold it i.e. fanny pack, small backpack, camel back (optional)

  • Knee & elbow pads (optional)

  • Camera (optional)

Conservation Easements: 2025 Updates on Legal, Appraisal, Accounting, and Ethical Issues

The Georgia-Alabama Land Trust and the Alabama-Mississippi Chapter of the Appraisal Institute are partnering to present a virtual seminar that addresses current legal and valuation issues associated with appraising conservation easement property types.  Subject matter experts from the various facets of the conservation easement realm will provide insight into their role in the process.

This course is approved for 5 hours of CE by the following entities:

  • Appraisers in AL, MS, GA, LA & TN.  

  • Real Estate Agents in MS

  • Accountants in Alabama

  • Lawyers in Alabama

This course is approved for 4 hours of CE by the following entities:

  • Foresters in all 50 states
